The archeological sight – furnaces of the tenth Roman Legion
On the lower level of the convention center, in the Teddy Lounge, is located a fascinating and unique archeological sight.
The sight was exposed during the diggings to build Teddy hall and was opened to the public in 1995. The lit sight may be viewed through the glass floor in the Teddy lounge; however, it is most advised to visit it, to breath in the atmosphere of a different area and to closely observe the different artifacts.
The sight displays a tool shop and building stones made of clay, which was built by the 10th Roman legion that was stationed at the entrance to Jerusalem in the second century C.E. This factory created ceramic appliances and tile for the Roman factories in Jerusalem and the surrounding area. The tour of the fascinating sight exposes its visitors to areas and surfaces used to process clay, a compound where the craftsmen structured the tools and the products and sets of furnaces burned the product at high temperature
The entrance is free and must be notified in advance..
