“Things we see from there”
Drone photography Nuri Hess-Ashkenazi
A first solo photography exhibition is a formative event, reflecting the moment when the photographer has put together a volume of creativity and a unique angle and is ready to go out into the world, to the audience. It is very rare that one can achieve this at the age of 16! The unique exhibition presented to you here illustrates an accelerated and groundbreaking process by Nuri Hess Ashkenazi, who takes his photographs using a drone.
Hess-Ashkenazi began taking pictures with a drone when he was 13 years old, with no background in photography studies – he is entirely self-taught. “I started doing my photography with the drone because I liked to show the ordinary things of everyday life from a different angle."
Hess-Ashkenazi, although only 16 years old, already knows what attracts him to photography: "Sometimes I also photograph urban landscapes, but my preference is to photograph nature, especially forests and the sea. The weather greatly affects the character of the photographs, also the atmosphere and the light. I take all of these into account when looking for the right frame." The result is spectacular. Geometric shapes, color tones, and textures seem to be taken from a fictional-futuristic world or from microscopic worlds. Hess-Ashkenazi belongs to the new generation of photographers who are recruiting new technology to create a new form of expression in the world of photography.
The exhibition is presented in the Teddy Lounge. To arrange a visit, please call: 026558558
