The Silence of the Lava, The Song of the Wind

Iceland in the photography of Miki Spitzer

Miki Spitzer, born in Jerusalem to an ultra-Orthodox family, began taking pictures at the age of 27 and since then, has been in constant pursuit of finding the exact frame to make his dream come true. He claims that as an ultra-Orthodox person, he sees photography as a mission to commemorate the beauty of creation.

In 2020, Spitzer visited Iceland for the first time and immediately fell in love with it. The wildness of nature, the tenderness and the primordial beauty captured his heart, and since then he has returned to it 15 times. Spitzer says:

"One of the things I love about Iceland as a photographer is the ever-changing landscape. This is happening, among other things, because global warming is melting the glaciers and creating new and unique streams from them. Even the extreme seasonal differences drastically change the conditions of the area, allowing me, who visits it both in summer and winter, to present two completely different landscape photos of the same location."

The exhibition is displayed in the Oranim Corridor, ICC Jerusalem, 1 Shazar Boulevard.
