Gidon Agaza – Solo exhibition

"Who is in charge of the dream?" asks photographer Gideon Agja."Look into the eyes of these people who dreamed of Jerusalem and made a long and difficult journey to get to Israel."

Gideon Agaza, 39, is an activist photographer, researcher and documentary artist. He has been involved in photography for the past 20 years and dedicates his artistic work to documenting the Ethiopian community.

Agaza takes upon himself the task of documenting and preserving the faces of those who laid the foundations for the establishment of the community in Israel. It is important to him that their voices be heard, and, in fact, in his photography work, he zooms in and asks observers to look into the eyes of the subjects and get closer to their story and, above all, to listen. Because in his eyes, they are an integral part of the magnificent Zionist enterprise.
